Top Ten Online Learning Tips

Distance learning offers more flexibility than traditional degree programs

Vancouver, BC - April 27, 2010 - Online learning is an extremely convenient - and effective - way for you to obtain a post-secondary education. Why? Online degree programs allows you to improve yourself without interfering with your career or family life in a major way.  Instead, you can work towards your degree at your own pace, from the comfort of your home.

Make the most of the online learning experience:

  1. Make sure that you have the required technological equipment for the online course.

  2. Ensure that your study area at home is comfortable and free from distractions.

  3. Set goals for yourself with your school work and regularly work towards achieving them.

  4. Establish a regular study schedule and stick with this schedule throughout the duration of your online degree program.

  5. Become an active participant in your online learning experience by taking part in online class discussions, asking questions when needed and speaking up when you have an answer or opinion that will be helpful to your classmates.

  6. Complete all assigned reading and assignments. It's tempting to skip over things when you get busy and don't have to face your instructor in person, but it's important to complete all course work to fully understand what is being taught.
