Credit Transfers
University Canada West accepts course credit from other BC and Canadian universities as well as specific courses and programs from community colleges.Credit may also be granted for courses and programs taken internationally. Students must achieve a passing grade at the institution from which the credit is to be transferred. At the undergraduate level, a minimum grade of C or better is required. At the graduate level, a minimum grade of B or better is required. Procedures: To receive transfer credit for previous studies, students must submit a completed application form. Once the application form is received, an Enrolment Representative will forward the student a Request for Transfer Credit form to be completed by the student. The student must also request the issuing college or university to send an official transcript for assessment directly to the Registrar’s Office at University Canada West. Course descriptions, course outlines, syllabi and other supporting documentation for each course to be reviewed should also be submitted by the student. Once the above-mentioned documentation is received, the Registrar and/or the Dean of the Faculty will determine the eligibility for transfer credit based on the official transcript and supporting documents. University Canada West is committed to giving the maximum transfer credit that is appropriate without compromising the quality of the student body currently attending classes. About Official Transcripts Applicants must submit official transcripts from any previous secondary and post-secondary institution along with their University Canada West application. An official transcript is one that has been sent directly from the issuing institution to the Registrar’s Office at University Canada West. It must be sealed and tamper-free. Students must submit official transcripts from every institution at which they were registered, even those at which they withdrew from classes. Failure to send official transcripts along with the application or in a timely manner may result in a delay or suspension of the admissions process. |
