Undergraduate Bachelors DegreeAn undergraduate degree in media and communications is a stepping stone to a wide variety of career and educational paths. Students enrolled in this program expand their knowledge and interests in writing, mass media, journalism, advertising, public relations and communications, and design technology. Methods of communication in contemporary society are examined against the advancing technology of media outlets and the Internet. Increasingly, the gathering, analysis, interpretation, storing, and presentation of information have influenced decision-making in political, economic, and cultural society. Students are taught both theoretical and practical skills in media and communications including the development and evolution of the media, mass media roles in democratic society, legal and ethical responsibilities of media, media as business, and written and oral skills. more A UCAN BCom will give you a broad range of business basics and management skills. Focus on several core areas including Tourism Management, Strategic Leadership, International Business, and E-Business. Develop invaluable skills in decision-making and organizational leadership which will take you far in the business management world. Graduates of the UCAN BCom degree often pursue post-graduate studies in law schools and MBA programs. more As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace organizations are staying ahead by investing time and resources in technology management. UCAN’s innovative BCom degree in Technology Management is designed to educate and train students to become business specialists in information technology. Courses in this program will examine the relationship between human behavior and technology. Students will look at the organizational structure of a business to determine how technology is managed and how decision-making from management affects the technological areas of a business. Topics also include a study of technological support systems, information technology, design, production, project management, and the digital divide. more UCAN's Degree Completion program also allows you to transfer credits from a recognized Media or Communications diploma toward an undergraduate degree specializing in Media and Communications. Much like the full Media and Communications program, courses focus on your theoretical and practical skills in field of media and communications including the development and evolution of the media, mass media roles in democratic society, legal and ethical responsibilities of media, media as business, and written and oral skills. more The Degree Completion program at UCAN allows you to to transfer a recognized Business Administration diploma as credit toward a Bachelor of Commerce degree in two years. Much like the BCom, General Studies specialization, this program delivers a general overview of commercial practices, focusing on several core areas: International Business, Tourism Management, Strategic Leadership and E-Business. more Graduate Masters DegreesIf you have a non-business undergraduate degree, this program will allow you to graduate with an MBA in two years. The program combines short residencies with online course work in a structured academic format. Students enrolled in this program will receive study materials a month in advance of the start of the program. This allows students to prepare for the upcoming course work load and gives an overview of what subject matter will be taught. Course work will be delivered online at eight-week intervals and in the second year of the program, students will complete a year-long consulting assignment. Applicants to the two-year program are expected to have work experience. more Our Accelerated MBA graduate degree is for university graduates who have a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration degree and wish to complete their MBA on campus within one year. All classes are held at the University Canada West Campus over an intense twelve-month period. By fast-tracking through an MBA degree, students can finish faster and start their careers sooner. Students do not need to have work experience to be eligible for admission to this program. In addition to course work, students will complete a major Research Assignment that involves an investigation of a business issue.
