Money to be made from population's desire to go green

Over the past few years, people are interested in "all things green" in ever increasing numbers. 

In fact, a report conducted by futurethink called The Future of Green Business Strategy states that today:

 

  • Walmart is going green
  • Celebrities are becoming eco-evangelists
  • The 2008 Olympics set the gold standard for sustainable events
  • Religious leaders now make the environment a moral issue

 

What does all this "green talk" mean with respect to your career - and business in general?  Well, as a result of the increased interest in the environment, the popularity of green businesses is on the rise as well. Whether businesses specialize in alternative energy technology, organic fruits and vegetables, green apparel or green renovations, these companies all have one denominator in common - they all need to hire business graduates.

These types of positions are perfect for individuals who wish to make a difference in the world, yet still apply the strategic and practical business skills that they learned in university.

Some of the green business jobs that are available within the eco industries include sales, management, accounting, operations, finance, marketing and administrative positions.
